Social Housing is central to the South African Government's National Housing Strategy

Mission:

"To contribute towards the development of the Social Housing Sector through the provision of grants, technical support and bridging finance so as to ensure that the targeted institutions achieve sustainability"

Vision:

"By 2007, the targeted Social Housing Institutions (SHI's) shall have achieved acceptable levels of sustainability (as measured by the absence of distress), the capacity of national agencies operating within the sector will have been enhanced and there will be full support for the growth of high potential SHI's"
