Project Viability Study Workshop
26 & 27 October 2006

The SHF has been mandated to provide technical support to Social Housing Institutions pertaining to stock development. Project feasibility is critical to stock development and is one of the most important procedures contained within the stock development process. The SHF has subsequently identified the need to develop a tool that will assist Social Housing Institutions with determining financial feasibility of a project. The workshop takes place on 26 & 27 October 2006

Densification in Housing Workshop
13 September 2006

The purpose of the workshop was to share existing information and research on housing densification initiatives, projects and approaches to South Africa. It was also to identify factors and approaches that would support housing densification in South Africa. Lastly, to examine lessons and experiences that was learnt from housing projects that have focused on densification.

Construction Management Good Practice Workshop
5th & 6th June and 10th & 11th July 2006

The Social Housing Foundation has identified the need to enhance and further develop the skills and knowledge of the co-operative sector in terms of construction management. First of the two day workshop (pre-construction phase - part one) took place on the 5th & 6th June 2006 and the second of two day workshop (construction phase - part two) took place on 10th & 11th July 2006.

The other issue that was covered in the workshop was a report back on the development of the various policy documents for the key operational areas.
