SHF's Resource Center is geared to support and serve local and foreign stakeholders in social housing with quality information.
Information searches
Send your requests via e-mail, fax or phone. If we don't already have the information you're after, we'll research it for you. Walk-in researchers are welcome Monday to Friday 09h00-17h00.

When we're unable to provide you with information you're after and know where to source it from, we're sometimes able to borrow material on your behalf (consider that a cost may be incurred)

We're well connected
We are always learning from our foreign stakeholders and visitors. Dynamic interaction with donor and other foreign social housing players (Canada, Norway, USA, EU, Netherlands) allows us to build a strong base of international reference material relating to social housing overseas.
Locally, our resource network extends to the National Department of Housing Library, National Housing Finance Corporation (NHFC), Built Environment Support Group, and many university departments and research units.
Lending policy
- Users can borrow up to 3 items for 14 days.
- Unless requested by others, items are renewable
- Renewals may be done via e-mail, phone or fax
- Fines charged per overdue day per borrowed item
- Lost items must be replaced
Copies and copyright
Copies can be made in compliance with Copyright Act No. 98 of 1978 (amended and under review). Since the South African copyright laws do not yet address digital technology, we suggest you follow the following guidelines:

Where copies are made at SHF, there is no charge (unless bulk). Costs plus a small handling fee will be charged for couriers and postal services.
